Research: The Work Of Ron Davies
Ron Davies is the oldest photographer in liverpool. For about 4 years and has worked for most advertisments in liverpool. These are some of his pictures of liverpool. My favourite image is the picture of the iron man with the read sun set the reason i like this image the best is because it conveys a good contrast of colours and has a good use of shadows. The one i dislike the most is the image of the boat in the river mersy this is because the image is too blary even though it has a good contrast of colours.
RESEARCH: The Work Of Other Photographers.
My photgraphs: Inspired by the research I have done.
To take these photographs I went to Liverpool Waterfront, I took pictures of the Three Graces aswell as the Port of Liverpool building and the Albert dock. The field trip gave me a opportunity to develop this project in a creative and interesting away. The diverse architectural styles were very interesting to photograph. I took photographs of the albert docs including the boats in the albert docs. I also took pictures of the Three graces using the fish eye lense this allowed me to fill the image. Another image I took was of the Liverpool Echo. I also used the fish eye lense to take some of the images the effect of this was it gave me a better image and included more. I also used a 18-55mm lens this allowed me to take quick snapshots at different angles. I found the 18-55mm lense better for this trip as it allowed me to take a variety of buildings. As I was there it started to rain this had it's advantages and disadvantages the disadvantage is it limited where i could go and the advantage is it made some of the surfaces reflect.
My Polar Co-Ordinates Photoshop Work.
My Black And White Water Front Photographs.
These photographs where taken at the Liverpool waterfront. They where taken when i took part on a school photography field trip, I took these images to improve and develop my Liverpool waterfront project. My photographs relate to the research i have presented as they are both based around the Liverpool water front area, I have utilised the same monochromatic effects in my work. I have been inspired by the creative use of composition I observed in my research work. I have taken elements from the photographers i have researched to help develop and improve my own photographic work. The work of my chosen photographers in my research section provided me with a great starting point to develop my creative journey. I have carefully and subtly edited my work using a wide range of Photoshop CS5 tools and filters. For example Black and white, vignette, hue saturation and by changing the exposure. I felt that some of my original jpeg images would benefit from selective and sensitive use of Photoshop. Some of the effects I used were the lighting and the exposure of the image. I am very pleased with my work. I am particularly pleased with the images of the doc and all the buildings around it. I think I could improve my work by adding more of a variety of full framed images.
